Behind us the Gross Windgällen, in front of us the Schächentaler Windgällen.

Soon their time will come: the steep Ruch Chälen is waiting for Gross-Ruchen aspirants.

The descent: top at the top, flop at the bottom, thanks to heavy wet snow.

The 2506 m high Hoch Fulen is somewhat overshadowed by its big neighbor in the Schächen valley, the Gross Ruchen. Nevertheless, it is a worthwhile ski tour – as long as you don’t catch a day (like we did) when the fresh snow turns into a braking, sticky mass within hours, which massively impedes any progress…
