The 3934 meter high Bietschhorn is a striking mountain on the border between the Bernese Oberland and the Valais. Especially from the south from the Mattertal, the striking pyramid-like shape catches the eye and is hard to miss. The climbs to these peaks are all long, the hut approach to the Baltschiederklause alone is an extended day hike in itself.
