The area around Grimselpass, Oberaarhorn and Finsteraarhorn is one of the wildest and most untouched regions of the Swiss Alps. Miles of glaciers, steep granite cliffs and jagged mountain formations characterize the landscape in this unique area. Many alpine tours that can be done there require long and sometimes demanding approaches, also the amount of mountain huts is manageable.

Our picture, taken at dusk, shows the Oberaar glacier stretching from the reservoir of the same name up to the Oberaarjoch, where the Oberaarjochhütte has found its sheltered spot. To the right of it rises the 3631 m high Oberaarhorn. One can almost imagine the distant murmur that visitors to this region hear, from a mixture of meltwater streams and the wind that makes its way through the valleys.

This image conveys to its viewer the majestic tranquility that these mountains radiate. Thanks to the modern printing processes, all the details and all the colors come out perfectly and let you fully immerse yourself in this pristine mountain region.
