Situated about 500 m above the Rhone Valley, the commune of Vex is the entry point to the famous Val d’Hérens with its Ehringer cows and its wild mountain scenery at the valley ends near Arolla, Ferpècle and the large Lac de Dix reservoir. The municipal territory stretches up to over 2000 meters above sea level, where the small retort town of Thyon 2000 marks the end of the road and the entrance to the ski area “Les Quattre Vallées”.
