Friday: Welcome! We hope you had a great journey. We'll get started with a short hike in the afternoon, followed by a relaxing lesson before dinner.

Saturday: If you're an early riser, you'll love our PMR (progressive muscle relaxation) session before breakfast! Then, we'll set off on a wonderful, leisurely hike with built-in relaxation sessions. In the afternoon, we'll have a super relaxing session of AT (autogenic training) in the hotel, followed by a delicious dinner.

Sunday: Good morning! If you're an early riser, why not enjoy another relaxing PMR session before our cosy breakfast? Before we head off, we like to take one last lovely stroll together to wind up the weekend.

Key point

You do not need any previous knowledge of the relaxation methods progressive muscle relaxation and autogenic training.

The hikes are at difficulty levels T2-T3 on the SAC hiking scale. No extremely exposed sections are to be expected, but depending on the path and route, you should be sure-footed in rough terrain.

Detail program

The following programme serves as an approximate guide. It is subject to change and depends on external influences such as weather and conditions.

Friday: Arrival and relaxation

We meet at the Eco-Hotel Cristallina in Coglio between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM and take some time to get to know each other. Before we set off on our first hike, we can check into our rooms. After checking in, we get moving and explore the region around Coglio. Back at the eco-hotel, we will have a relaxation session followed by a delicious dinner in the hotel restaurant.

In the evening, we simply chill out and anyone who feels like it can think about their own wishes and resolutions, which we can incorporate into autogenic training the next day.


Saturday: Hike and Chill

Today's theme is all about movement and relaxation. We want you to feel free to do whatever makes you happy and comfortable. There are no rules, no musts, just you and your own personal space. If you'd rather sleep in, then go right ahead! If you're an early riser, you're in luck! You can take part in a progressive muscle relaxation lesson to start your day fit and fresh.

We'll all meet up for breakfast at around 8am, and then we'll set off on our hiking adventure at around 10am. As we walk through the gorgeous Vallemaggia countryside, we'll have plenty of time to relax and unwind using a variety of techniques. In the afternoon, you'll have the chance to treat yourself. Before dinner, you can join for another relaxing session. Then, we'll wrap up the day in a cozy setting and enjoy a delicious dinner at the restaurant. If you'd like, you can even join us for an evening stroll.

Sunday: Relaxation to go

Time really does fly! Before we know it, it'll be time to head home. We're going to make the most of the last day with plenty of relaxing and exercise before we go.

There's another chance to unwind with a refreshing session of progressive muscle relaxation before breakfast. Later, we'll set off on another hike and take time to relax. We'll be back at the hotel at around 2:00 pm, and then it'll be time to say goodbye.

The Maggia Valley offers an impressive variety of hikes that lead through enchanted forests, along babbling brooks and over old stone bridges. The trails range from gentle strolls to challenging hikes that reward you with marvellous views of the majestic Alps. Accommodation

We are staying at the Eco-Hotel Cristallina in the Maggia Valley. The ecologically run hotel places great importance on sustainability and skilfully combines Mediterranean flair with an Alpine lifestyle. The family-run hotel emphasises hospitality and offers a warm welcome in one of the most wonderful landscapes in Italian-speaking Switzerland.

Catering

Breakfast and dinner are included in the price. The Eco-Hotel Cristallina spoils us with organic and regional products and some of the ingredients come from its own garden. Whether mountain cheese, crusty bread or Ticino honey for breakfast, or excellent pizza, pasta and other delicacies for dinner. The Cristallina's cuisine leaves nothing to be desired. Water is included throughout the day.

Equipment

Yoga mats are available in the relaxation room, but of course you can also bring your own mat or an extra blanket.

  • Hiking boots with a good tread
  • Weatherproof, breathable hiking clothing according to the onion principle
  • Rain jacket
  • Sunglasses & sun protection
