The Spinas Ridge in the Bernina area is the westernmost of the three pillars of the 3899 m high Piz Palü and culminates in the Piz Spinas of the same name, the northernmost of the three highest points of this striking mountain.

On this clear evening, not a cloud cloud clouds the sky above the impressive glacier world in the Engadine. The last rays of the setting sun hit the western flank and make the snow glow golden yellow once again. With every minute that passes, the shadows move a little closer to the summit, until the entire Piz Palü is in shadow and the dark home becomes more and more prevalent.
