Light and shadow - this is probably how you could describe the year 2024 in a nutshell. Or, to outline it metaphorically with the topographical forms of our landscape photography: a year with highs and lows, both personally and globally.
When we look back on our year with beAnywhere, we are a little proud of what we have achieved. We have made a lot of fundamental revisions to our website, much of it in the background, but also a lot on the user interface. As we are one of the first regular customers for our digital agency Gyden, which was founded in 2024, so to speak, we can also access all the know-how and implement some technical improvements and further developments.
These include a completely new online store for our Fine Art Prints, based on the headless eCommerce system Vendure, which we have supplemented with an elaborately designed configurator for the different image sizes and variants, including shadow gap frames.
We also offer organized trail running trips and events and guided hikes in the Alps and Scandinavia. Marina has started her training as a hiking guide with the Swiss Mountain Guide Association, while Falko successfully completed his certification as a Swiss Athletics Trailrunning Guide in late summer 2024. This means we can now ideally complement our storytelling offering and simply take you with us on our favorite activities - be it running, hiking or photography.
We have also been able to significantly improve the user experience and information content in the Stories section by adding route information with an interactive map, directions and lots of other information. Of course, everything is mobile-first (i.e. easy to use on a smartphone or tablet) and implemented with great attention to detail. There are also some new stories in which we focus more on video content as well as the two new categories Trail running expertise and Hiking expertise.
We already have many ideas in mind for 2025 and will continue to work on our ideas so that beAnywhere becomes even better and remains an exciting interface between digital and real for our visitors. And in 2025, we will remain true to our credo and write our own content: We don't use AI-generated texts on beAnywhere, but instead stand for stories and reports about outdoor sports, landscape photography and organized hikes and trail runs that have been personally experienced and put into words.
